Friday Wine Tasting 7.7.17

We hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July. Come by and join us for a free wine tasting, today from 3-7 pm. Hope to see you there!

BARLOW SAUVIGNON BLANC
This Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc is crisp, clean and complex. The nose is pure fruit and sunshine with aromas of grapefruit, melon, lime zest and mandarin orange. The palate is a pleasant balance of refreshing crispness and round richness. The fruit profile continues on the palate with tropical fruit notes and lemon grass with a flinty minerality leading to cleansing finish.

WATERMILL CABERNET FRANC
Cabernet Franc is an excellent summer red wine. It tends to be leaner and lighter bodied than it’s relative Cabernet Sauvignon, while still providing great fruit and balanced structure. This Oregon example offers an earthy nose of smoke, leather and hints of lavender. The palate is dark and complex with ripe black cherry and plum fruits evolving into a finish of cocoa, spice and espresso.

WATERMILL MERLOT
This Merlot is round, plush and thoroughly satisfying. Thick but gentle tannins are balanced by a lively acidity, keeping the wine feeling decedent but not too heavy. Blackberry and fig preserves create a feeling of warmth and richness, showing a complex evolution into a finish of toasted almonds, dark cherry and cocoa powder.

WATERMILL CHANCES R RED
This is a Bordeaux style blend, meaning it is some makeup of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. It opens with a bold and friendly nose of dark cherry, vanilla and cloves. The palate is rich and round with smooth tannins and ripe flavors of plum, raspberry and dark chocolate.
