Friday Wine Tasting 9.22.17

Come join us this afternoon from 3-7 pm.  Here’s what we’ll be pouring:

SYLVAINE & ALAIN NORMAND MACON LA ROCHE VINEUSE
This is a Chardonnay from southern Burgundy. It opens with a bright and youthful yellow color. Its nose is intense and rich with notes of ripe stone and tropical fruits. The bright fruit notes continue into the palate along with clear undertones of warm spice and a bracing minerality. Full, rich and ripe, this is a standout Chardonnay.

TESSELLAE GSM
A stellar value, this blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre treats you to a dense and delicious ruby colored wine. Vibrant cherry flavors mingle with notes of earth, pepper and dried herbs. The palate shows bright acidity and a chewy texture with easy tannins making this an easy and agreeable sipper.

TESSELLAE CARIGNAN
Carignan is a French grape with a tumultuous past. In the time immediately after the phylloxera epidemic, Carignan was highly valued in the recovery efforts due to its heartiness and high yields. But, like many high yield grapes, quality was allowed to suffer and the grape slipped into obscurity as a minor blending component. However, with effort and age, this grape can produce complex powerful wines such as this one. Black raspberry and ripe cherry flavors dominate with undertones of licorice and spice creating an alluring, luscious taste sensation.

CHATEAU PUECH HAUT LE PRESTIGE
This Grenache-Syrah blend from the Languedoc is a vibrant, balanced and elegant wine. Notes of blackberry, plum, licorice and dried herbs abound on a seductively ripe and smooth palate. Fine tannins and mouthwatering acidity make this an effortlessly drinkable wine, sure to be a hit at any backyard barbecue.
