Friday Wine Tasting 9.8.17

Today we’re tasting wines from two of California’s powerhouse vineyards. Come by and give them a try!

DELOACH CHARDONNAY
This Russian River Chardonnay was fermented half in French oak and half in stainless steel. This, along with malolactic fermentation, creates a wine that is both rich and lush as well as vibrant and lively. Ripe stone fruit and crisp apple notes are elevated by a bright acidity while notes of lemon curd and brioche fill out the soft, round finish.

DONATI FAMILY VINEYARDS CLARET
This Central Coast red is dubbed “claret” for its use of traditional Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Malbec. The nose offers aromas of cherry, vanilla and toast. The palate is medium bodied and silky with notes of candied cherry and baking spice. This is a versatile wine with a combination of bright acidity and soft tannins making it an easy food pairing.

DONATI FAMILY VINEYARDS MERLOT
Produced from fruit grown in the Paicines appellation in the Central Valley of California, this wine is blended with small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The aromas of dark cherry and cocoa are mirrored in the lush, full bodied palate. Soft tannins add to the velvety mouth feel and carry into the long, lingering finish.

DONATI FAMILY VINEYARDS EZIO CABERNET SAUVIGNON
This is the vineyard’s flagship wine, named after Ezio Donati, the first Donati to be born in the states. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine offers a bold, rich and almost decadent experience. Dark fruits and rich earth dominate the nose while black cherry, warm spice and aged leather mingle on the complex palate. Lush, full tannins and a moderate acidity linger into the long finish.
