I have spent the bulk of my professional life in the retail wine industry. During this time, I have been repeatedly surprised and saddened by the number of people that feel true appreciation and enjoyment of wine is outside their abilities – as though some of us won a genetic lottery of golden taste buds: you either have it or you don’t.
